It is my pleasure to welcome you back to Syracuse for the upcoming 162nd annual New York State Fair.
For well over a century, the State Fair has showcased and celebrated New York’s vast agricultural economy, technological innovations, rich history and culture.
This spirit shows through with a truly remarkable array of exhibits on display, the entertainment and activities available, as well as the pride and energy that have made the New York State Fair our single largest statewide attraction year after year. Simply put, the Fair promises to be an enjoyable and engaging experience for all.
Over the past several years, the New York State Fair has entertained nearly one million fairgoers with agricultural exhibits, thrilling rides, cultural villages, a star-studded concert lineup, culinary treats and much, much more. Undoubtedly, the Fair will once again be a fun, educational and memorable experience, as we gather to salute our state’s dynamic resources and traditions.
As we seek to transition the State of New York into an economic, social, and cultural engine built for the 21st century, the State Fair is an occasion upon which we can come together and celebrate the past, present, and future of our great state.
With that spirit in mind, on behalf of the entire State of New York, I welcome you to the 2008 New York State Fair.
Warm Regards,
The Empire Expo Center's single largest event, the Fair is a 12-day summer showcase of the best New York State's agriculture, entertainment, education, industry, and technology.
You will view over 375 acres of animals, exhibits and displays. See live performances from the biggest names in entertainment. Enjoy Midway rides and games of skill. And savor mountains of mouth-watering food. No wonder almost one million people visited the Fair last year.
