Fans attending The Wanted concert at the State Fair Grandstand on opening day of the will be in store for an even better show than they originally anticipated, with the announcement of opener 3OH!3.
“Adding 3OH!3 to The Wanted show is sure to make it a memorable concert to open the New York State Fair,” said Dan O’Hara, State Fair director. “We’re sure fans of The Wanted will be happy with this opener.”
Electro pop duo 3OH!3 will be taking the Grandstand stage with The Wanted on Thursday, Aug, 23 at 7:30 p.m. The duo released their first self-titled studio album in 2007 which included the successful single “Electroshock.” The following year, the duo released their follow-up album which went to No. 2 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Album Chart. The single “Don’t Trust Me,” from the album reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Pop Charts. In 2010, the duo released their third studio album, Streets of Gold. The album featured singles such as “My First Kiss,” “Hit It Again,” and “Touchin’ on My,” and hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Album Chart. They are expected to release their fourth album, Omens, early this fall. The first single from the album, “You’re Gonna Love This,” was released in July of this year.
Tickets to see The Wanted with opener 3OH!3 are $55, $45 and $35 and can be purchased at the State Fair Box Office, online through Etix, or by phone at 1-800-514-3849 . There will be a $3.75 service fee whether purchased online or through the Box Office. Additional fees apply to credit card orders. Ticket price includes admission to the Fair as long as it is purchased before the date of the concert.
The 2012 Grandstand concert series includes British pop group The Wanted with opener 3OH!3 on Aug. 23; country artist Keith Urban with opener David Nail will perform Aug. 24; Rockstar Energy Drink UPROAR Festival appearing Aug. 25 with acts including Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, Papa Roach and Adelitas Way; comedian and actor Larry the Cable Guy performing Aug. 26 and country artist Jason Aldean with opener Luke Bryan performing Aug. 31.
The 2012 Fair will run from Aug. 23 to Sept. 3.
