Los Lonely Boys Forced to Cancel Performance Due to Injury
Due to an injury to lead singer and guitarist Henry Garza, Los Lonely Boys has cancelled its Friday evening appearance at the New York State Fair Chevy Court. Electro-pop artist Owl City has agreed to move from the 2 p.m. slot on that stage to 8 p.m.
Los Lonely Boys issued this statement:
“We are saddened to report that Henry Garza has re-injured his back, and will not be able to perform this weekend, as his doctor has instructed him not to travel. Henry originally injured his back after falling from the stage in Downey, CA at the end of February. With the prescribed rest, and additional therapy, Henry and the band plan on being back in action next week. Our sincerest apologies to the fans in Syracuse, NY and Port Aransas, TX. We hope to make these dates up in the future. Thank you for understanding while Henry continues to get past this injury, and for your support of Los Lonely Boys.”
Performing at 2 p.m. on Friday will be Soul Risin’, a veteran Syracuse-are band that describes itself as a “soulgrass jam band” for its mix of musical influences. Soul Risin’ has played the Fair in the past, and opened for The Fray in 2009 when the band’s opening act had to cancel.
The New York State Fair runs from August 22 – September 2, 2013. The Fair’s theme is “Sharing the Bounty and Pride of New York.”
