Tickets to see country music superstar Tim McGraw perform at the Mohegan Sun Grandstand with popular country duo Montgomery Gentry will go on sale Saturday, June 19 at 10 a.m.
Tickets to the Sept. 3 grandstand performance cost $65 and $75. They will be available Saturday at the New York State Fair Box Office and through Ticketmaster. The Fair Box Office, which charges no service fees, will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and will not be opened again until regular summer hours begin July 6.
No one will be allowed to line up to buy tickets at the Fairgrounds before 6 a.m. on Saturday, and no overnight parking will be allowed.
Ticket sales will be cash only at the State Fair Box Office as long as there is a line of customers. Credit cards (MasterCard, Visa and American Express) will be accepted after the line is gone. Sales will be limited to eight tickets per person for the first week of the ticket sale.
Fans can also buy tickets online through Ticketmaster.com or order and pay by phone by calling 1- 800-745-3000 or 1-866-448-7849. Admission to the Fair is included with the purchase of a grandstand ticket on the day of the show.
Tickets for people with special needs – including those who are hearing impaired, use a wheelchair or have difficulty doing stairs – will go on sale at the same time as general seating tickets. They can be purchased through Ticketmaster or at the New York State Fair Box Office. Only one companion ticket is permitted for each special-needs ticket. Additional tickets, even if they are part of the same party, must be purchased in the regular seating section.
McGraw, a three-time Grammy Award winner who has had 30 songs hit No.1 on the country music charts, will perform at the Fair’s grandstand at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 3. McGraw has sold more than 40 million albums worldwide, and has dominated the country music charts since the release of his debut album in 1993. He’s won three Grammy Awards, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards and 10 American Music Awards. McGraw is also an actor. He recently co- starred with Sandra Bullock in the Academy Award-nominated film “The Blind Side,” and has played supporting roles in other movies, including “Friday Night Lights” and “Four Christmases.”
Montgomery Gentry is a platinum-selling country duo. Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have produced 15 songs that hit the top 10 of Billboard Magazine’s country music chart.
Tim McGraw with Montgomery Gentry is the seventh, and final, act of the Fair’s 2010 grandstand concert series. Aerosmith will open the Fair on Aug. 26; comedy ventriloquist Jeff Dunham will perform Aug. 27; rhythm and blues star Rihanna will sing Aug. 28; teen pop sensation Justin Bieber and supporting acts Sean Kingston and Jessica Jarrell will perform Aug. 29; legendary classic rock
band Rush will play Sept. 2; and country music star Rascal Flatts with supporting acts Kellie Pickler and Chris Young will perform on Sept. 4.
Tickets for the other six shows – including a limited number of obstructed-view seats for Justin Bieber – are on sale now.
